Brady Wagoner, from Aalborg University, shares with us a bit about his research and some insights from his secondment in Nicosia, Cyprus.
In this video, he compares the way that history is visible and made every day while walking the streets of Nicosia, Cyprus. This is a divided city that is disputed between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, and signs in either part of the division show the ways that this conflict is still ongoing.
Brady is currently working with Ignacio Brescó de Luna on research on how visitors experience memorial sites. He compares part of this research to his visit to Nicosia’s Museum of the National Struggle, a museum that should be analysed by its content as much as by its architectural form.
