Towards Delegitimization of Political Violence

Posted on

“In this booklet we offer our theoretical reflection with a distinct pedagogical character. It is based on clearly evidenced convictions: in the first place, the ethical bid for the assumption of the perspective of the victims as the spine of all peace education; secondly, the intrinsically ethical character that the history discipline must have, and, as such, the importance of incorporating into it the centrality of the victims; finally, the recognition that the correct articulation between memory and history is a proper place to put into play the goal of the delegitimization of violence. All of this brings us to set forward a concrete orientation of history teaching that we identify as the construction of the students’ historical conscience.”
