The second general conference of the MakingHistories project took place at the AHDR in Cyprus between November 4 and 8, with the attendance of 35 participants from the different institutions that are part of it. The first two days were dedicated to discussing the contributions of the working groups, with emphasis on current discussions on historical thinking and its role in inspiring changes in the teaching of history
On the third day, the topic of video games and teaching history was worked on, thanks to a project obtained by Mario Carretero and Mikel Asensio (www.histandmem.com). The guest speakers were Michelinos Zymbelas (Cyprus University-The role of emotion in history education), Robert-Jan Adriaansen (Erasmus University-Present challenges in historical thinking), Peter Gautschi (University of Luzerne-Interaction between formal and informal history education) and Arthur Chapman (IOE, London-Interpretation and historical thinking).
