During December 13th and 14th, 2023, we had the opportunity to participate in an expert seminar for social psychologists, history educators and peace education experts organized by our colleagues at AHDR (Association for Historical Dialogue and Research), in Nicosia, Cyprus.

The seminar was entitled “Expert Seminar on History Education in the Eastern Mediterranean: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Co-operation on History Teaching in Post-Conflict Settings”. It was organized by MAKINGHISTORIES, AHDR, and Georg-Eckert-Institut/EFRET

This meeting took place in the Home for Cooperation, a unique community center situated in the buffer zone in Nicosia. In this space, diverse activities take place to foster contact and collaboration between people on both sides of the lines that divide the island. The mission of the Home for Cooperation is to create bridges between separated communities, which makes it the ideal place for these debates and sharing of experiences.
